About ChapterTK

I’m that annoying person at parties who gets drunk and starts having in-depth discussions about how to change the world. I commonly question accepted realities of society, wondering why they are and if they should change. In questioning every day life, I hope to instigate my readers to think more critically about their everyday lives.

This tendency to question everything has been a part of my life since my youth. I dive into the anger, depression and confusion of my younger days. Even then, though I was barely a teenager, I questioned everything around me, including my own reactions to the world.

Knowing all this, it should come to no surprise that I studied Journalism – a profession based on asking questions – in college. In addition to my Journalism Major, I majored in International Studies with a focus on human rights and received a Certificate in Peace and Conflict Studies through my study abroad program in Northern Ireland.

My college education fuels more than my career and this blog. Writing is my passion and it characterizes every facet of my life. Scattered throughout this blog, you will find hints of my biggest dream. Nothing would make me happier than to make a living writing novels. I am currently working on my first, with many other novels soon to follow.

I would like to welcome you to Chapter TK. I invite you to read my recent posts and explore any topic that interests you. There’s something for everyone here.

    1. Yeah, but there are tools out there to help you make friends. It’s all a matter of having the courage to put yourself out there.

      1. To make friends all you have to do is be yourself all the time. It may take a little time, but those who find you refreshing will flock to you and then all you have to do is shake off the fakers. I don’t think I learned that lesson until my 24th or 25th year of life.

          1. Look at how easy it is. I haven’t even met you and think you are pretty darn cool. Just think of the friendships you can make with people around you just by doing the same thing! 😉 Life’s too short to worry about little minded people that might reject you.

  1. Thank you for stopping by and liking “The White Glob With Fowl Like Tendencies.” and I’d like to let you in on a little secret from a guy who has been around for almost three times as long as you. For this next part read real slow and quietly to simulate me whispering. To make it real fun, glance around a lot to ensure that no one is trying to listen in on you reading my whispered secret. “Life only gets mundane if you let it. Whenever you find yourself being encircled by a horde of routines, throw a wrench at them and watch how everything changes not only for yourself, but those around you.” 😉

    1. Yep, that’s right up there with “you’re only as old as you act.” There’s no reason life has to ever get boring.

  2. I enjoyed reading your thoughts on how you are dealing with life after college. I have talked to a number of people with the same issues and that is why I had started some small conferences on some of those issues. I remember when I went to college and there were a number of things that no one had told me about…I had to figure out a lot of things on my own. These were things on finances, living situations, and a number of other things. Later in life, I found that a lot of college students were coming into the financial bank that I had worked at and could have gotten themselves into bad financial situations. I always tried to explain what the loans were and how they could affect them in a good or bad way. Anyway, it was good to read your story.

  3. “After what I have experienced so far, I am sure I will never ever get used to life and I prefer it that way.”

Wise observation honey, because life is full of plot twists and turns that you can’t see coming, and as the old saying goes, “truth is stranger than fiction.”

Great attitude—you will survive the maze….

  4. HI TK – I hope you don’t mind. After checking your copyright section I shared a link to your site through my blog. Let me know if this is OK – and if not, I will remove it straight away. Thanks. D

    1. I certainly don’t mind. My only correction is that I see you listed me as chaptertk.wordpress.com. This is an old domain which redirects to this on, chaptertk.com. Just know that chaptertk.wordpress.com will eventually not lead to this site. I only made the redirect to last a year so that regulars could find me.

Thank you for linking back to me. I’ll have to check out the blog post.

    1. My drunk self would LOVE you. I’d be all “here’s how we can save the world” and you’d be all “I love your ideas; they’d totally work.”

Then I’d say “Shots?” and the night would be off ^_^

  5. I’m so very happy to have discovered your blog. I know I’ll enjoy following you. I’ve read several of your posts. They are very real, reflective, and thought-provoking. And some are so fun : ) I don’t comment a whole lot. But I will be reading regularly. Keep writing! Take care.

    1. Thanks so much! I did see that and plan to comment with my answers soon. I don’t usually post these on my blog (outside my awards page) but I do love participating in a comment ^_^

      Thanks again!
